Cell Information:
Dermal Microvascular Endothelial Cells (HMVEC/CADMEC) usually are isolated from normal human neonatal foreskin or adult skin capillaries. They are responsive to cytokine stimulation in the expression of cell adhesion molecules.HMVEC express CD36 constitutively, while large vessel endothelial cells do not.HMVEC is an organ-specific endothelial cell system for the study of angiogenesis, tumor metastasis, wound healing, inflammation, macromolecule transport, and drug metabolism. There is growing evidence of differences in physiology and pharmacology between microvascular endothelial cells and macrovascular endothelial cells.
Applications:
The Transfection Reagent:
Transfection of primary cells, such as HMVEC, has always been challenging, both technically and financially. The most common systems currently used for molecular delivery to these cells include expensive electroporation instruments and relatively toxic chemical formulations.
Human Dermal Microvascular Endothelial Cell (HMVEC) Avalanche™ Transfection Reagent is a new class of unique chemical formulations specifically formulated and optimized for transfecting HMVEC. The proprietary formulation oflipids and polymers ensures the highest possible transfection efficiencies and viabilities for HMVEC.
