Cell Information:
Human Mammary Epithelial Cells (HMEpC) are usually derived from normal adult mammary glands. It was shown that normal HMEpC have a high amount of cyclin-dependent kinase 6 activity, which restrains HMEpC proliferation, and loss or down-regulation of cdk 6 may play a role in breast tumor development1. Transforming HMEpC to immortality and malignancy was a useful model for studying early breast carcinogenesis. Autocrine colony-stimulating factor receptors may contribute to invasive progression in epithelial cancer was demonstrated in a 3-dimensional culture of HMEpC.
Applications:
The Transfection Reagent:
Transfection of primary cells, such as HMEpC, is a problem in the laboratory routine and further in tissue engineering and gene therapy. Most methods working effectively for cell lines in culture fail to transfect primary cells.
Human Mammary Epithelial Cell (HMEpC, HMEC) Avalanche™ Transfection Reagent is a new class of unique chemical formulations specifically formulated and optimized for transfecting HMEpC. The proprietary formulation of lipids and polymers ensures the highest possible transfection efficiencies and viabilities for HMEpC.
